Travertine Cleaning

This cross-cut Travertine in Windermere was purchased and installed un-filled. When the installer grouted the floor he also filled the voids with grout and then cleaned up with a sponge leaving the filled voids recessed, or lower than the surrounding travertine tile. This gives the floor a less formal appearance, however it does make maintenance more difficult for the homeowner.

Clean Image of Orlando's travertine cleaning process utilizes a high pressure steam within a simultaneous vacuum recovery system to pull the dirt and soil from the travertine without damaging it. The floor was then sealed with a penetrating sealer to protect it and make maintenance easier for the customer.
Often a Travertine floor can accumulate soil within its pores over a period of time that you forget what it looked like clean. If you walk across your floors in your socks, and the bottoms get soiled, likely your floors need our professional cleaning. Even though your maid says she is cleaning, it is nearly impossible to deep clean travertine with a mop and bucket.
This home in Windermere thought the black in the travertine was part of the stone, it wasn’t. Most travertine, not all, has very little if any black mineral composition. Notice how clean the grout came as well as the stone.
This travertine floor in Longwood had become soiled over a short period, mainly due to their dog coming and going. The grout lines were especially low and attracted much more soil than normal. We pay special attention to grout lines on every floor we clean; they’re all scrubbed individually with specially designed tools to soundly break up the soil. The next step involves using another tool specifically made for deep cleaning floors; it utilizes high-pressure steam with vacuum so there is no mess, and to ensure the floor is rinsed completely (very important).
Many times a Travertine floor will get soiled slowly and over a period of time that you forget what clean looks like. There are many natural voids that open over time with foot traffic and abrasion that get filled with soil, dulling the Travertine. A professional deep cleaning will remove years of embedded and impact soil to return the natural beauty of your stone floors. Using Neutral floor cleaners after a deep clean will keep your floors cleaner longer.
Travertine holes big and small will eventually fill with soil. This home in Winter Park had dining room chairs with rolling wheels that were opening and enlarging voids already present in the tile. The first step is to deep clean the travertine surface to allow the filler material to properly adhere in the hole. A common problem is when this is not performed, the filler material will eventually pop out.
It is amazing what a good cleaning, honing and sealing will do to transform your Travertine flooring. This high traffic area around the island in the kitchen had many years of use between the kids and pets before we were called in to clean and seal. The cleaning effectively removed years of ground in soil.
