Limestone Cleaning

Limestone can be one of the most difficult of the natural stones to clean properly. Clean Image of Orlando has many different methods in use to clean limestone, depending on the situation. In this case, we started by giving our detergents a five-minute dwell time on the surface. That’s followed by agitation to loosen the soil. Next, we used the Turbo-Hybrid, which utilizes a high pressure steam system within a simultaneous vacuum recovery. Using this system ensures a deeper clean and cleaner rinse than any on the market today. The picture says it all!
Most homeowner’s don’t realize how soiled their floors are until they start rearranging furniture or rugs, and then discover how clean it is under them. This was the case as you can see from the pictures. This customer in Winter Park had become accustom to the gradual soiling before discovering the difference under the rug.
You may think this is a wood floor, however this beautiful Limestone floor was ground flat, enhanced with a penetrating enhancing sealer, and polished. This floor in Orlando originally was sealed improperly leaving a waxy residue that clouded the natural beauty. This limestone was almost white before the enhancer darkened and highlighted its character.
This beautiful limestone is located in a high-rise in downtown Orlando. Another company had tried to polish and seal using a method known as crystallization. This process had discolored the grout and left the finish unacceptable, as there was a low, un-even gloss with circular marks. This compact limestone was quite thirsty for a penetrating sealer, which protects the stone from the inside out rather than a wax on the surface. This allows the light to penetrate the surface and reflect of the crystals under the surface rather than a wax on the surface. This imparts a much clearer reflective shine rather that a cloudy one.
