Shower Cleaning

As you can see in a close up of this polished marble shower wall, many years of use left a heavy build-up of hard water and mineral deposits. CAUTION, you cannot use standard shower cleaners to remove this, as most contain acidic solutions designed to remove mineral deposits, however marble is also a mineral and you will damage it.
This travertine shower in Windermere has the same mineral deposit build-up and requires correct procedures, not brute force, to remove without damaging the stone surface underneath.
This is a close up of the mineral deposits being removed as a first step. The 2nd and 3rd step depends on the stone and desired finish.
Many factors can cause this type of mineral build-up from tile stone surface, soaps and conditioners used, and water hardness in your area. CAREFUL, water softeners using salt may help with water hardness, however may be harmful due to salt corroding the stone. We have several case studies pending on this subject, so stay tuned.
