This Homeowner was considering ripping up 3000 square foot of travertine when they purchased a home in Windermere. However they called Clean Image of Orlando out for a free estimate before making that decision, and they were glad they called us.

As you can see from the before picture, the travertine has not only cracked apart, but also has significant height level differences, what we refer to as deflection. This was repaired using a level 5/5 repair process whereas the crack is diamond “dremeled” to remove any stained material from the side of the crack, polyester epoxy’s are color matched to the stone and the crack is over filled. After cure, the entire crack is ground with aggressive diamonds so as both sides of the travertine and the new epoxy filler are all flush with one another. The entire floor is then diamond honed and finished to the customers goal. As you can see from the after picture, we saved the new homeowner from having to replace such a beautiful floor.
Do you have a crack in your floor that needs repair? Clean Image of Orlando can help. 407-298-3132
Clean Image can also do crack repairs on Castle travertine installations, also known as French pattern or Ashlar. The process is slightly different due to the surface texture of the brushed surface.
We our often asked how are you able to make the crack disappear? One of the things for a successful repair is being able to match the epoxy to the color of the stone being repaired. You can see in the left picture this crack repair took 4 different colors to match the stone at hand. The colors are mixed in with the Polyester- Epoxy resin filler. Often many different colors are used on the same crack depending on the color of the tile being repaired.

Are your travertine tiles hollow where you have a crack? If so, then the hollow tile needs to be stabilized before repairing the crack, otherwise it will fail prematurely. The picture on the right is where Clean Image of Orlando drills a small hole into the tile and injects an Epoxy under the tile to re-bond and secure to the sub floor. The injections are done with an electric Caulk gun that can produce over 800 pounds per square inch of force.
